Plan

This week we have been designing and modifying our bow and arrows. We know Brian in Hatchet had to show a lot of persevering. We had some great designs with Penny's arrow traveling 60.2 meters!! A magpie had a very luck escape from Henry's arrow too.

We have been discussing ideas to raise cash for our movie day and would like to sell some kind of healthy snack or food. Some ideas have been muesli bars or smoothies. If you have something please let us know.

  4. How far was the record last year? Did we (pennys arrow) beat the MPS record?
Who had the best bow last year? Who had the best arrow last year? (My brother thinks his arrow went 64.3 meters) Did it actually go that far? I enjoyed the making ,editing ,and the scientific 'average'.

      75g wholewheat flour or 30g of wheat-bran
      2 teaspoons of baking powder
      1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda
1/4 of a teaspoon of salt
1/8 of a teaspoon of ground nutmeg

      Stir in:
      75g coarsly chopped walnuts

Whisk together in a different bowl:
      1 egg
      150g of light brown sugar
      2 or 3 mashed bananas
      6 tablespoons of vegitable oil
      1 teaspoon of vannila extract

Add the flour mixture and mix together with a few strokes just until the dry ingredeints are moistrised.Do not overmix;the batter should not be smooth.Divide the batter among the muffin cups. Bake untill a toothpick inserted in 1 or 2 muffins comes out clean, about 18 minutes. Let them cool for 2 to 3 minutes before removing from the muffin tin. If not serving hot, let them cool on a rack. Serve as soon as possible.

  5. Mr Cooke, Thanks for tracking down Lachie's lunch box and polar fleece today!!! We have been checking lost property often in case they turned up there. The contents of the lunch box would have been a bit of an impromptu science discussion I suppose! Cheers:-) from Lachie's Mum.
