Week 2

Get your diaries out you will need them this week!!

Tuesday 14th is area cross country at Lauriston School. These people have not returned permission slips: G.E, Z.G, F.J, Q.M, M.H, Y.P, M.R, P.S, Please make sure you are not left behind.

Thursday 16th is wild foods lunch time BBQ. Thanks so much for the generous offers of game. We will be selling venison wraps for $4:00 and sample plates with a selection of other wild game.

Homework this week is to work on a reading activity for our web site.

1. Select a topic from our wetlands study and write an information text similar to our "Birds" reading activities. It should have a simple introduction and 4 or 5 paragraphs. Each paragraph should have a clear topic such as;features, habitat, food, life cycle and threats.
2. Write some activities for a reader to demonstrate their understanding of the text such as the Blooms  "Birds" questions and tasks. This link may help. https://www.flsouthern.edu/tlc/pdf/BloomsTaxonomy.pdf
3. Use some of the links on the blog to find your information. Remember we only want a draft copy on refill paper. Sketch any pictures you want.

Next week we hope to go and see Cleardale's wetland and spawning salmon on 22/5. If we get enough transport.
